Genetics/Forensics Project
A murder has been committed on the campus of San Marin High school. The STEM team rushed to gather evidence and start the investigation on: Who Killed Captain Cornball? It was a foggy night when Captain Cornball was having a friendly picnic with Sam Stubbs, Norma Nanny, Fred Felckstone, and Glen Glendora. 30 minutes into the picnic, the lights turn off and Captain Cornball was slumped over with a steak knife in his neck. The lights turn back on and the police arrive at the scene. Captain Cornball was officially pronounced dead. The STEM team takes over for the investigation: Who Killed Captain Cornball?

Reflection: The above file was the report we have made from the case. With my group we successfully presented the report to the court of San Marin High. I liked doing this project because it taught us a lot about fingerprinting analysis and DNA collecting. We all worked well to help solve the case. 2 things I learned in this project was how to do blood test and match the blood on the knife to the blood of the victim and the other fun lab in this project was fingerprinting. We took finger prints off the knife handle and put the fingerprint on a plastic clear tray where we put florescent powder on the fingerprints and looked at them with a UV light. I thought all the labs in this project were really interesting.
