Rube Goldberg machinE
The Rube Goldberg machine, it has arrived making life harder than it needs to be. our task was to smoothly and cleverly drop a penny into a piggy bank. we need to have 10 or more steps in order to complete the full machine. In the PROCESS of building this machine, i learned alot about energy transfers and physics. I really enjoyed working with my group members because we learned from each other and became really good friEnds. our machine took about 4 weeks to complete and its all worth it, this is a well oiled machine. our 12 steps were;
step 1. cup falling over
step 2. marbles rolling down screw
step 3. knock over wedge holding tennis ball
step 4. tennis ball rolling down ramp
step 5. ball hitting book and knocking it over
step 6. weight drops on lever
step 7. stick hitting marble
step 8. marbles rolling down screw
step 9. marbles hitting golf ball
step 10. golf ball rolling down ramp
step 11. golf ball hitting weight for it to fall over
step 12. weight falling releasing door to let the penny fall into the piggy bank
projeCt video and reflection.......
In this project our group had to work together in many different ways to find the correct mathematics that is used in the Rube Goldberg machine. There were ups and downs but we pulled through it and worked together to get the job done correctly. We learned a lot not only in education but also in social skills to help communicate to each other. Communication is a big key in this project because it takes more than 1 to complete this project. This project also took a lot of dedication and hard work. This is an area that I could improve on in the future projects.
In the process of construction, we faced major challenges trying to figure out which piece to glue or nail together and the correct placement of the piece. We had times where we had to revert back to an original option due to project failure. I admit our project was not even close to perfect but it did the job and delivered the penny into the piggy bank and we all had fun. I am so glad I was placed in this group because we all worked together with minimum conflict and completed the machine, yes we can improve but me and my group were very happy and. That is something we should all be proud of. I am really glad to be in S.T.E.M. because it will help us in mathematics and engineering. This project helped me learn new things about myself and more about the world of physics.

Reflection......
As you just watch in our video we have accomplished our task with this machine. It is as complicated as is looks and with all our groups brain power combined we made it all possible. I am very proud even tough we had pros and cons and our conflict between each other only helped us understand each other, it taught us to work it out and compromise to make it work. this project took a lot of patience and concentration and every step help build our knowledge in physics. I am so glad I was placed in stem because this kind of group projects is helping us learn and helping us work together with each other.
